En el trabajo fue incansable. Nunca se quejó de las adversidades propias de la pobreza de un país que vivió entre guerras, con una terrible carencia de medios. Al contrario, él fue de los que “tiraron del carro”. En el Servicio del Hospital General de Valencia, donde desarrolló su mayor labor asistencial, cuando no existían la “guardias de especialidad”, puso en marcha una especie de rondas de tardes, que, a menudo realizaba él personalmente, para ver la evolución de los pacientes que estaban allí ingresados.
También merece la pena destacar lo siguiente: cuando llegaba a su consulta un paciente que no disponía de medios para pagarla, no le cobraba. Incluso en algunos casos de personas que estaban pasando mayor necesidad, les daba una ayuda económica al acabar la visita.

He was tireless in his job. He never complained about
the setbacks and problems of a country that lived between two wars and had an
extreme lack of resources. On the contrary, he was one of the people that tried
to make a difference in this difficult situation. In the Department of the
General Hospital of Valencia, where he spent most of his career as a physician,
he set up a special assignment for the doctors on duty to evaluate the progress
of the patients in the afternoons. He often personally performed this task,
which reflects his constant concern and care about his patients.
It is also
worth to recall that when a patient with economical needs was received into his
clinic he did not want to receive any payment. Most remarkably, in some
occasions, it is known that he even gave donations to some patients with mayor
economical needs.
